Our roots
A 17th-Century Estate Near Ostuni, Puglia
Lamacoppa Leaf Sciences began at Masseria Lamacoppa, a 17th-century agricultural estate about ten minutes from Ostuni. Across 120 acres, centuries-old olive groves, citrus trees and dry-stone walls preserve a distinctly Apulian landscape shaped by generations of farming.
In 2019, 30 hectares of the estate were dedicated to industrial hemp. That decision created a direct connection between the land and the ingredients we produce: our primary raw material is grown on the estate from which the company takes its name.
Dry-stone walls, a private chapel, a lemon grove enclosed in the inner courtyard: the estate has been farmed without interruption for four centuries, and it still sets the pace. What Masseria Lamacoppa gives Lamacoppa Leaf Sciences is not an image on a label. It is a known piece of land, with known soil and known fields, and a short walk between the crop and the people answerable for it.
“From the strength of nature comes the responsibility to preserve, understand and refine it.”
Lamacoppa Leaf Sciences is the hemp and cannabinoid company established on the estate. Masseria Lamacoppa operates separately as a private hospitality property.
Cultivation
How We Grow Our Hemp
We grow hemp outdoors in southern Italy and document each batch from planting through harvest, storage and transport. Controlling the raw material at source helps us manage consistency before extraction begins.
Harvest timing matters more than anything else we control in the field, because the composition of the plant shifts as it matures. Once cut, the crop is dried and stored on site, a few hundred metres from where it grew, and enters extraction with its field batch still identified.

Technology
How We Extract and Purify Cannabinoids
Our production process combines supercritical CO2 extraction with purification and independent batch testing. The objective is simple: turn a variable agricultural material into CBD and CBG ingredients with a documented, repeatable profile.
Process parameters are selected according to the target ingredient rather than applied as a single standard recipe. This allows us to produce isolates and distillates for different formulation needs while retaining batch-level documentation. Purification is adapted to the required cannabinoid concentration, spectrum and THC specification.
Harvest and preparation
Hemp is harvested, dried and stored under controlled conditions before the biomass enters production. The agricultural batch remains identified throughout this preparation stage.
Supercritical CO2 extraction
Carbon dioxide under controlled pressure and temperature separates cannabinoids without hydrocarbon solvents. At the end of the cycle, the CO2 returns to a gaseous state and leaves no solvent residue in the extract.
Purification and testing
Distillation and crystallisation bring the extract to the intended concentration and profile. Independent laboratories then verify every released batch against its specification.
From field to ingredient
Our Extraction Plant
Operating the extraction plant allows Lamacoppa Leaf Sciences to set process parameters, maintain an unbroken chain of custody and document how every batch is produced. It also keeps cultivation, extraction and technical support within one accountable organisation. Professional customers can therefore discuss both the agricultural origin and the technical specification with the same supplier.

Who We Work With
Our consumer products and professional ingredients come from the same controlled supply chain. The audience and format change; the origin, production records and quality controls do not. This shared foundation lets consumers understand where an ingredient comes from and gives professional buyers access to the documentation needed for evaluation and formulation.
For people
CBD Products for Everyday Routines
Our consumer range includes CBD oils made with Italian extra virgin olive oil, skincare, targeted body care and hemp herbal infusions. Each product is designed to make hemp-derived ingredients clear, approachable and easy to use. Product pages provide formulation details, ingredient lists and the information relevant to each format. The emphasis is on transparent composition and products that fit naturally into an established personal-care routine.
For businesses
CBD and CBG Ingredients for Formulation
We supply cosmetic manufacturers, laboratories and formulators with CBD and CBG isolates, full-spectrum, broad-spectrum THC-free distillates, crude extracts, CBD Oils full-spectrum, broad-spectrum THC-free, hemp biomass and CBD water-soluble solutions. Selected ingredients are approved for use in COSMOS-certified cosmetic formulations. We also support private-label cosmetic projects, from ingredient selection and formulation through production documentation. Technical conversations begin with the intended application, target concentration, regulatory market and documentation requirements.
Quality and documentation
Certifications and Quality Controls
Quality claims are tied to specific products, ingredients and batch documents. The table below distinguishes certification from testing, traceability and production origin, so buyers can understand exactly what each statement covers. COSMOS certification applies to selected cosmetic raw materials, not automatically to every Lamacoppa product. Likewise, a Certificate of Analysis describes the individual batch to which it refers. This precise language is essential for transparent sourcing and responsible formulation.
| Control or standard | Applies to | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| COSMOS certification | Selected CBD and CBG cosmetic ingredients | Eligible for use in natural or organic cosmetic formulations certified to the COSMOS standard, subject to the finished formula. |
| Independent laboratory testing | Released cannabinoid batches | Third-party Certificates of Analysis document cannabinoid content and the analytical parameters specified for the individual batch. |
| Batch traceability | Cultivation and production records | Records connect the agricultural batch with storage, extraction, refinement and quality-control documentation. |
| Italian origin | Hemp cultivation and cannabinoid extraction | Industrial hemp is grown near Ostuni in Puglia and processed by Lamacoppa Leaf Sciences. |
